LowerTown Arts District, Paducah, KY

The LowerTown Arts District is an emerging artist community in Paducah, Kentucky.  Paducah, a small city on the banks of the Ohio River, is located in the northwest quadrant of Kentucky, two and a half hours north of Nashville, Tennessee. Lower Town, the oldest neighborhood in Paducah, is adjacent to downtown.
The LowerTown Arts District is the result of Paducah's Artist Relocation Program, a collaborative effort between the cititzens and government of Paducah, Paducah Bank, and artists recruited nationwide. This program has revitalized an historic neighborhood and brought economic growth to the downtown area. Once neglected, the Lower Town neighborhood is now home to art studios, galleries, specialty shops and restaurants.

Thanks to everyone who contributed their time, talents and money to the 2010 Lower Town Arts and Music Festival. Both the volunteer spirit and this year's regional theme where a tremendous boost to this community. We look forward to bigger and better things in 2011!
